Flavours of Latvia (3 days/ 2 nights)

The tour will include a visit to the Pharmacy Museum in the very heart of the Old Town. At the entrance you will be greeted by a monk and a nun who will tell you about the beginnings of Riga Black Balsam manufacturing, and will offer you to taste this traditional herbal liqueur. The next day you will take a trip to the bakery Lāči, which is only 30 minute drive away from the centre of Riga. This is one of the most traditional places in Latvia where you can taste real, hand-made bread. You will learn about the Latvian bread baking traditions and will have an opportunity to try you hand in baking, make your own bread, cake or cookies. Then you will have a break in the café Lāči, where increadibly delicious bread and pastry can be purchased.

The next stop will be in Jūrmala. One of the largest Baltic ports is distinguished for its moderate climate, warm sun, excellent beaches, and unbelievably clean and fresh air. The city has mineral springs and healing muds. The architecture of Jūrmala is an exceptional and wellbalanced mix of modern and ancient buildings, with some of them dating back to two-three centuries. On the third day you will visit Dūmiņu, a small family-run winery in the Bauska region. It currently produces 26 different wines. Here you can find traditional wines made of Latvian apples, grape, and red currant, as well as unusual wines made of dandelions and even beet root. The tasting of five different wines is included in the program. Once the tasting is over, you will head to the Rundāle Palace, the most famous Baroquestyle architectural monument in the Baltic region.
